Overview

Jomsom- Muktinath Trek is one captivating journey which lets you encounter the diverse communities of Annapurna Locale. The 14 day trekking starts from Kathmandu to Pokhara, to delightful Annapurna Area and steadily enters Mustang District. The trekkers will find themselves through the Kali Gandaki route, going into Thakali & Gurung tribal culture, rich woodlands, waterfalls, diverse villages, supplemented by the perpetually changing perspectives of the Annapurnas. The diverse communities of Nepalese people will make this trek more fulfilling. Amid the trek, the hot springs at Tatopani will be a fulfilling and satisfying experience. This trekking circuit is an easier part of Annapurna circuit and is thus ideal for the individuals looking forward to visit Annapurna Circuit in minimum time span.

 

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)

Day 02: Kathmandu: sightseeing and trek preparation

Day 03: Fly to Pokhara (823m/2,700ft) and trek to Tikhendhunga (1,552m/5,090ft): 30 minutes flight, 4-5 hours trek

Day 04: Day 04: Tikhedhunda to Ghorepani (2,750m/9,020ft): 6-7 hours

Day 05: Ghorepani to Tatopani (1,190m/3,904ft): 5-6 hours

Day 06: Tatopani to Ghasa (2,110m/6,922ft): 5-6 hours

Day 07: Ghasa to Marpha (2,680m/8,792ft): 4-5hours

Day 08: Marpha to Kagbeni (2,810/9,218ft): 4-5 hours

Day 09: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3,710m/12,170ft): 5-6 hours

Day 10: Muktinath to Jomsom (2,715m/8,910ft): 5-6 hours

Day 11: Fly back to Pokhara: 15 minutes flight

Day 12: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

Day 13: Final departure

 

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (Altitude 1300m)

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, one of our delegates will pick you up and escort you to your designated hotel. In the hotel, you will be briefed about the further plans of the trek.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After breakfast, we will be visiting UNESCO recorded world heritage sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath(monkey temple), and Pashupatinath in Kathmandu Valley the entire day. Stay overnight in Hotel.

Day 03: Kathmadu – Fly to Pokhara 900 m – trek to Tikhedhunga

After breakfast, we will drive you to Pokhara which is 200km from Kathmandu.  En-route, we can appreciate the excellent grand perspectives of terraced fields, eye catching scenes, Trisuli and Marsyangdi Rivers and tremendous perspectives of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal and the vast majority of Annapurna Himalayan Range. After that, we will drive you to Naya Pul and start the trek. We will walk around the northern side of Bhurungdi Khola. The trail goes through the sub tropical valley timberlands. We will cross the Modi Khola River via a suspension bridge to the town of Tikhendhunga.

Day 04: Tikhedhunga – trek to Ghorepani 2810 m

Today, we will begin our trek after having breakfast at the tea-house. The beginning of the trek is a lofty upward stroll for around 2 Hrs and after that a progressive upward walk. The stroll on the stone cleared strides is a challenging experience early in the morning. The entire trail drives you through towns and woods to Ghorepani where your endeavors will be compensated with wonderful close up perspectives of the Himalayas.

Day 05 : Ghorepani – Trek to Poon Hill 3210 m – Tadapani 2700 m

An early-morning hike up to Poon Hill/3210m for amazing brilliant sunrise and panoramic view of high Himalaya, It takes about 45 minutes and 400 meter walk up to the view point. After enjoying sun rise and Mountain View come back to hotel. We will then trek to Tadapani and stay overnight there.

Day 06: Tadapani to Ghasa (2,110m/6,922ft): 5-6 hours

The trail follows the Kali Gandaki River. Continuing along to Dana, Rupse Chahara and Kopchepani, the trail further takes us to the Thakali village Ghasa. Ghasa is a paradise for the bird watchers.Overnight in Ghasa.

Day 07: Ghasa to Marpha (2,680m/8,792ft): 4-5hours

A move through backwoods takes you to Lete Khola then to Lete. It additionally proceeds toward the east side of the Kaligandaki, Larjung Village. From Larjung, we will cross trail by means of Tukche at 2590m until we get to Marpha Village.

Day 08: Marpha to Kagbeni (2,810/9,218ft): 4-5 hours

The trail proceeds with the valley side, rising continuously before traverse a low edge to Jomsom Village. We will cross the Panga Khola and reach Ekle Bhatti. From Jomsom it is extremely blustery toward the evening and the trek proceeds on the progressive way on the Kali Gandaki. After a decent stop here and an hour of simple walk takes us to Kagbeni.

Day 09: Kagbeni to Muktinath (3,710m/12,170ft): 5-6 hours

Our journey starts with the walk around riverbank of Kali Gandaki up stream. In the midst of the walk we will be able to explore lovely sites and as we stroll further, the way climbs steeply to re-join the quick trail provoking to Khingar at 3200m. A further climb takes us to Muktinath.

Day 10: Muktinath to Jomsom (2,715m/8,910ft): 5-6 hours

Muktinath is a blessed place of journey for Nepalese of both Buddhist and Hindu religion as these two religions are complicatedly woven together in Nepal. We visit the sanctuary in the morning and visit its neighborhood. From Muktinath, we will head towards Jomsom. Remain overnight at Jomsom.

Day 11: Fly back to Pokhara: 15 minutes flight

We take an early morning flight to Pokhara from Jomsom. Amid the flight, you can encounter amazing perspectives of Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri ranges. The entire day at Pokhara is free for some shopping and relaxation.

Day 12: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will be either driven to the Pokhara airport to take a flight to Kathmandu or will be driven to Kathmandu via tourist vehicle. The entire day in the capital is free for some shopping and relaxation.

Day 13: Departure

After checking out of the hotel, our representative will take you to the international airport for your flight home. If you want to continue your stay in Nepal for short tours i.e. National parks, rafting, mountain biking, hiking, etc., please do let us know. We will be proudly serving your needs.
